About us
How we rank
We rank hiring platforms by the numbers vendors gloss over: real total cost per hire, time-to-fill, and where candidate quality actually comes from.
What The Hire Signal is
The Hire Signal publishes independent, scored rankings covering recruiting platforms, offshore hiring, EOR services, job boards, HR software. Every article is a working document: we re-check prices, revisit scores, and update rankings when the facts change. The date at the top of each article is real.
The scoring scale
Everything we rank gets a single score from 0 to 10, with one decimal. Two things on the same list never share a score, because a tie is a decision we refused to make. Our scale runs colder than most:
- 9.5–10 - exceptional; we can count these on one hand per year.
- 8.8–9.4 - the winners. Excellent with minor trade-offs we name.
- 7.5–8.7 - solid picks that are right for specific situations.
- 6.5–7.4 - made the list, with reservations we spell out.
- Below 6.5 - doesn't get published. If it's bad, it's not on the list.
Where the information comes from
We work from primary sources: official pricing pages, published specifications, government and industry data, and aggregated verified customer feedback. Every article closes with a methodology note explaining what we weighed, and a sources list you can check yourself. When we estimate, we say so.
Independence
Nobody can buy a placement, a score, or a rank on this site. Some outbound links may be affiliate links, which never influence position or score - our affiliate disclosure covers the details. Our full editorial rules live in the editorial policy.
